INTERVIEW: JOEL VIG
Joel Vig starred in the original Broadway
production of "Hairspray" with Harvey Fierstein. Joel understudied
both the roles of Edna and Wilbur Turnblad in the Tony winning
musical. He also starred in "Ruthless" and frequently appears in a
popular Manhattan cabaret show. With his friend and co-star Patricia
Neal, he has toured global venues in a celebrated adaptation of
Truman Capote's "A Christmas Memory," inspired by events during the
writer's childhood in Monroeville, Alabama. Joel has appeared at
Tennessee Williams Festivals in New Orleans and Clarksdale,
Mississippi, where he recently shared the stage with Tammy Grimes in
"Mr. Williams and Miss Wood" about the relationship between the
playwright and his devoted agent Audrey Wood. Joel speaks of his
visits to the South and his humorous encounters with Truman Capote.
