During Trailfest, the Margaret Mitchell House in Atlanta offered free admission to anyone who said "Southern Literary Trail" at the ticket booth.

  Elyzabeth Wilder's new southern play The Furniture of Home was presented by the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Montgomery, during Trailfest 2009.   A display of posters from movies based upon books of William Bradford Huie in Hartselle, AL.   On every Saturday during Trailfest, Wren's Nest Readers told the stories of Uncle Remus on the grounds of the house.

On June 15, 2009, the Southern Literary Trail hosted an audience reception after a screening of The Little Foxes in the classic Egyptian Theatre, home to the American Cinematheque on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles.

 

A porch play is presented in Clarksdale, Ms., during the October 2010 Tennessee Williams Festival.
